Preparation
Before drilling, the following preparations are necessary. First, prepare a drill bit suitable for the cutting tool material. Second, apply lubricant to the drilling location to reduce friction between the drill bit and the cutting tool, preventing overheating and affecting machining quality. Finally, select appropriate machining equipment, such as a drilling machine.
Drilling Steps
1. Determine the Drilling Location and Hole Diameter
Determine the drilling location and required hole diameter on the cutting tool according to the machining requirements and design drawings.
2. Positioning with Tools
Use tools for positioning, ensuring the drill bit is in the correct position to begin machining. During positioning, avoid moving or sliding the cutting tool.
3. Begin Drilling
Begin drilling at the lubricated location, paying attention to the perpendicularity of the drill bit and the rotation speed to avoid excessive pressure or damage to the cutting tool surface.
4. Drilling Depth and Hole Bottom Cleaning
Determine the drilling depth according to the design requirements. During the drilling process, it is necessary to continuously clean the iron filings and shavings from the bottom of the hole to ensure drilling quality and drill bit life.
